This new work: Square Dance is a celebration of joy movement color light
and a spontaneous energy of the dance. Within the rigors of a square dance that had much tradition and procedure I am making comparisons with the language that Haring creates with his iconographic hieroglyphics. The Ingre image that I have used in the picture is of artist and model. The entire composition dances on top of a dense painting of Robert Rauschenburg.
This new work entitled: The Road
is a memory of my childhood encounters with Chagall for the first time. Interestingly the images referenced here are Matisse, Kandinsky and Klee. The white enigmatic image at the base and top of the image are the “Fabulous Island” by Klee. His huge caligraphic strokes also surface the image. The small folklike images of houses is by Kandinsky.
This recent scarf design: “ABUNDANCE” with its use of wonderful flowers by La Tour and , Van Gogh, a soulful still life from Carravagio, and elements from Boticelli, the drawing in the center of the image is the fantastic island by Klee which i love.  This design is a very special image of harvest and love.
